The Mecklenburg Executive Collaborative (MEC) is a professional learning community for established mid-to-large nonprofit leaders in Mecklenburg County, formed in 2016. It’s purpose is to foster organic partnerships, shared learning, and candid conversations among leaders, policymakers, and community leaders.

MEC’s core strategies include:

 

  • Learning about sector influences and influencers.

  • Sharing ideas, organizational growth strategies and making connections to improve community service.

  • Determining research and information needed to articulate sector needs.

  • Convening to become an influential force for policy, economic and social change.

 

Membership criteria require executive leaders (CEO’s, Presidents, Executive Directors only) of nonprofit organizations providing services in Mecklenburg County with operating budgets of $1M or higher, full-time executive leadership and staff and fundraising primarily within the county.

 

The MEC leadership meets quarterly and the topics are determined by the MEC Steering Committee.

 

There is an annual membership fee of $245.
